As Much As Possible

Blessing Others According to Galatians 6:9–10

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

Introduction: Life is often measured by the big moments—major decisions, milestones, and accomplishments. Yet God often measures us by the ordinary opportunities we embrace each day.

Paul doesn’t tell us to do everything for everyone. He says: “As we have opportunity…”

God gives opportunities. Our responsibility is to recognize them and respond.

This passage gives us four principles for living a life that blesses others.

1. Look for Every Opportunity (Galatians 6:10)

“As we have opportunity…”An opportunity is more than a chance.

“An opportunity is God’s invitation to love someone in a practical way.”

God opens doors every day.

Jesus constantly noticed people others overlooked.

• Zacchaeus in a tree (Luke 19)
• Blind Bartimaeus (Mark 10)
• The woman at the well (John 4)
• The widow of Nain (Luke 7)

He never hurried past people.

Opportunities often look like

• a conversation
• a need
• a burden
• a lonely person
• an interruption

What we often call interruptions may actually be divine appointments.

Application: Be aware everyday: “Lord, who will You place in my path today?”

Transition:

1. Never Underestimate God’s Provisions (Philippians 4:19)

Application: Don’t ever think or say, ‘but I don’t have much to give!’

God always provides enough to bless others.

Paul reminds us: “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Notice: God rarely gives us abundance merely for ourselves. He blesses us so we can become a blessing.

“God’s provisions are always greater than our expectations.

Examples

• Five loaves and two fish
• Widow’s oil
• Elijah and the widow
• Manna in the wilderness

Every time God’s people trusted Him…He provided more than enough.

Application: Sometimes we hesitate because we think:

“I don’t have enough.” God asks only for what is already in your hand.

Transition: So knowing that God provides both opportunities and provisions we are encouraged not to become weary.

III. Do Not Become Weary in Doing Good (Galatians 6:9)

Doing good can become exhausting.

Sometimes…

• people disappoint us
• kindness isn’t appreciated
• generosity is abused
• results seem invisible

Paul doesn’t deny the weariness. He simply tells us not to quit.

Notice he does not say:”Don’t become tired.”

He says: “Don’t become weary.”

Tired is physical.

Weary is spiritual.

God renews weary people. Isaiah 40:31,”They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.”

“We don’t tire or become weary because love gives us purpose.”

Purpose always outlasts emotion.

Transition:

IV. Especially Those of the Household of Faith (Galatians 6:10)

Paul broadens our ministry…Do good to everyone.

But then he narrows our priority.

“…especially those who are of the household of faith.”

The church isn’t merely an organization. It is a family.

• We celebrate together.
• We grieve together.
• We pray together.
• We carry one another’s burdens.
• We forgive one another.
• We encourage one another.

“Those of the household of faith are cherished because God’s love binds us together.”

When visitors enter our church…They should immediately sense: “These people genuinely love one another.”

That kind of love becomes one of the greatest testimonies to the world.

Jesus said: “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35)

Bringing It Together

1. God gives opportunities. – Don’t overlook them.

2. God provides what you need. – Trust Him.

3. Don’t quit doing good. – Stay faithful.

4. Love God’s family well. – Strengthen the household of faith.

Practical Challenge

• Look for one unexpected opportunity to help someone.
• Give something God has already provided.
• Encourage someone when you’re tired yourself.
• Bless someone in your church family who may never expect it.

Small acts, done faithfully, produce lasting fruit.

Conclusion

Imagine what Christian Life Church would look like if every member lived Galatians 6:10 every day.

• Needs would be noticed.
• Loneliness would be interrupted.
• Encouragement would become common.
• Generosity would become contagious.

Our church wouldn’t simply be a place people attend. It would become a family people long to belong to.

So let us…

Look for every opportunity.

Trust God’s provision.

Refuse to grow weary.

Cherish the household of faith.

Because when God’s people live this way, the world catches a glimpse of the heart of Christ.

Closing Prayer: “Father, open our eyes to every opportunity You place before us. Help us trust Your provision, persevere in doing good, and deeply love the household of faith. Make us a church known not only for what we believe, but for how we love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
