It is Written – September 30

‘It is written!’

‘Did God really say?’

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

Satan attempts to

tempt

Jesus not by misquoting what God has said but challenging if it is really what God meant!

The word inspiration means ‘to breath into’.

The

Scriptures

are

inspired-God breathed.

Inspiration is the process God used to breath His message into the original writers and carry them along by the Holy Spirit, so that they wrote what He wanted, free from error.

This means that God inspired every word in the Old and New Testament. He allowed the writers to choose the words, but He guided them to choose words He approved.

Plenary comes from a Latin word meaning ‘full or complete.’

When

we

speak

of

plenary

inspiration,

we

mean

that

the

entire bible is fully inspired.’

Through Scripture, God reveals Himself to us. His person, character, will, deeds, demands, and decrees.

Through the Scriptures, God gives us the

revelation

of himself and teaches us how to relate to Him

The Bible is infallible – it cannot fail.

This

means

the

scripture

cannot

be

wrong about faith and morals.

God’s

Word

cannot

deceive,

mislead, or disappoint us.

Without error on matters of history and science.

The Bible is the highest authority on religious matters.

Satan attempts to

tempt

us in not necessarily by misquoting what God has said but challenging if it is really what God meant!

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
