Steps
Psalm 37:23-24
Introduction: Two factors helped direct my sermon thoughts today: Our Business meeting and people moving.
NKJ Psalm 37:23-24 ‘The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand’.
NLT Psalm 37:23-24 ‘The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. 24 Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand’.
Question: So, what is that all about? What does that mean? Included? Exclude?
When it comes to our tomorrows and their direction, purpose, and outcome (our Steps (Ways):
What should we do?
Transition: There are a few things David learned and taught about the process:
- Trust & do good.
- Dwell – stay connected!
- Delight – rejoice, celebrate, enjoy.
- Commit – submit, release.
- Trust
- Rest – wait, know, be assured.
- Do Not fret – worry, preoccupied.
- Cease from anger.
Transition: Results / Evidences / Proof / Confidence is that the steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord.
- Steps = ways, direction, intentions
- Good man = firme (in Spanish). Righteous.
- Ordered = firm, stable, established
- Delights (For God) ‘delights in every detail’ – NLT
Word to the Wise
Introduction: Let me finish my thoughts on Matthew 8-10. Jesus is moved for the people and to send disciples/others into the whitened harvest field. Jesus does give additional instructions and awareness of lays before them. Question: Why did Jesus not send the disciples to Gentiles and Samaritans? In Romans 1:16 Paul writes, “I am not…

Oil on Aaron’s Beard
Psalm 133:1-2; Lev. 8:10-12 Introduction: Some of you may have heard or studied this image in scripture of oil soaking Aaron’s beard and dripping down all the way to his toes. This comes from Psalm 133:1-2 & Leviticus 8:10-12. I sensed the Lord was putting this in my heart and mind and what the significance…
Nothing Formed
Isaiah 54:1-17 Introduction: The last verse of Isaiah chapter 54 is one of the verses we lean on frequently. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants…

Judaism[edit] Main article: Shabbat See also: Hebrew calendar Jewish Shabbat (Shabbath, Shabbes, Shobos, etc.) is a weekly day of rest, observed from sundown on Friday until the appearance of three stars in…
