Thy Will Be Done – Part 2

The Model Prayer / The Lords Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.

Romans 12:1-2, ‘I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God’. (NKJ)

God’s Will = plans, ways, purposes, intentions. The place; the heart of God for us.

Question: Why is living in / pursuing God’s will so important?

Last Week – It is the Will of God to BELIEVE.

II. Repent

Repentance is reviewing one’s actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs, which is accompanied by commitment to and actual actions that show and prove a change for the better.

III. Be Filled with the Holy Spirit

‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere — in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’ (NLT)

For the purpose of ‘doing life.’

Being empowered to share / live / be what God intends.

Application: God took, called, and gifted all kinds of ‘ordinary people,’ to be His and to live happy, fulfilled, successful lives!’

Peter who denied the Lord 3 times.

IV. Love Others

‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere — in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’ (NLT)

Another reason we need God’s Spirit! We can’t without it.

Application: Hard to love some people huh?

V. Serve / Use Gifts & Talents

Your talent can be your special personality, your ability to give kind words, musical ability, determination in life, giving, preaching, wisdom, compassion, teaching skills, charisma, communication skills, or anything you’re good at.

Word to the Wise

Introduction: Let me finish my thoughts on Matthew 8-10. Jesus is moved for the people and to send disciples/others into the whitened harvest field.
